Gamba et Rota: the heavyweight of secure logistics

As from this summer, a new ultra-secure storage and despatch site will be opened by Gamba-Rota, in Vendeuvre-sur-Barse. The Aube based haulage company, already a master of the roads with its impressive heavy goods fleet, continues its development in the area of secure logistics, in particular for the wine growing industry.

Even if the Gamba-Rota company in its current form was only created in 1997, its roots go back much further. A century ago, the first members of the family arrived from Italy to work as woodcutters in the region's forests. "We then fairly logically moved into wood transport", points out Alain Gamba, a director of the family business and a representative of the third generation.

Its sights set on High-Security logistics

An ultra-secure logistics and distribution platform in Vendeuvre sur Barse, consistent with the development of the territory...

With a policy of development and permanent satisfaction, Gamba & Rota is extending its capabilities by the introduction of a 26,000 m2 logistics and cross-docking platform, including 6,400 m2 of storage buildings (8,000 pallets), operational in July 2011. This ultra-secure platform (video surveillance, alarm, K12 category road barrier, security staff, biometric access and finally, sprinklers) will offer managed temperatures (10° to 18°) for optimum conservation of sensitive goods (computer controlled hydrometry).

CO² target

In October 2010, Gamba & Rota signed the "Haulage companies undertake, CO² target" charter.

Out of a concern for sustainable development, the road haulage industry has committed itself to various actions aimed at reducing both polluting vehicle emissions and the emission of greenhouse gases.

In order to face the challenge of climate change and to comply with French undertakings to reduce CO² emissions subscribed to in the context of the Kyoto protocol, the sector needs to make use of a variety of solutions available to it by adopting measures that combine both organization and transport technology.

The "Haulage companies undertake, CO² target" charter has been prepared with this in mind.
